In general, the system works better on straighter hair than curly hair, and the darker your hair, the better. How ARTAS iX works

Although the ARTAS iX robotic hair restoration system seems simple because it’s painless and minimally invasive, it’s made possible through highly complex technologies. Using a touch screen, Dr. Schneider controls an articulating robotic arm that performs the procedure more precisely than is humanly possible. 

Harvesting

The procedure begins with the harvesting of healthy, producing hair follicles from other parts of your scalp. The robotic arm relies on an artificial intelligence algorithm and a high-definition visual system to detect your follicles, and then dissects them at a precise angle that eliminates any chance of errors. 

Extraction

Next, Dr. Schneider carefully extracts the tiny grafts that contain the follicles. She places them into a solution that keeps them cool, sterile, and healthy while our team prepares them for implantation.

Implantation

The implantation phase is what sets ARTAS iX apart from other techniques, as it achieves a level of accuracy that can only be accomplished robotically. Following a 3D plan that Dr. Schneider customizes for you, the ARTAS iX system maps out exactly where to place your grafts. The robotic arms scans your scalp and identifies the precise location for graft placement. 

One of the key features of ARTAS iX is that it avoids existing hair follicles to give you the best chance at a fuller head of hair. Other treatments can damage your existing healthy follicles and, therefore, decrease the density of your hair after the procedure — which defeats the purpose.
